BC day hike

Many of the sherpas head up to ABC and we take a day trip

23 April Project Himalaya

I am really hoping that the team left Kathmandu early this morning. As I upload the website I will get confirmation. Now is not a good time to be in Kathmandu and I expect more trouble. It is hard to see where it will end. However everyone will be safe in Tibet.

23 April Everest Peace Project

Three sherpas and two Tibetans headed up to ABC today, the sherpas to start carrying loads, and the Tibetans took up the gas heater and solar panels.

All the EPP team (not including sherpas) took a day hike up towards the North Face of Everest beside the Rongbuk Glacier (it is the East Rongbuk Glacier that ABC in on).

The weather was good and there was only a little snow under foot. We started at 8:15am, peaked at 5400m and returned around 3pm, so a good walk and everyone is tired.

Tonya gives way to yaks on the way back.

23 April, 7am - eight of the Project Himalaya sherpas just about to leave for ABC.
It will take them one day to walk up, and each is carrying a tent; the first time our climbing members trek we take two days.
The weather is looking good so they are going to carry loads high on the mountain.
