Zanskar Spring - Ladakh, India

Zanskar is just gorgeous trekking, we experience it shaking off winter and spring happening, a truly classic time to trek, yet we probably won't meet any other trekkers. Our 3rd time in this season, each previous trip was the stuff of legends...

Himalayan Caravan - Ladakh, India

We traverse a good chunk of Ladakh to one of our favorite Himalayan places, Lake Tso Moriri, to meet the nomadic changpas as they herd yak across the high pastures. Fresh curd, yeasty Chang, salt tea and a finish in the remote kingdom of Spiti via the stunning Parang La.

Caravan 50 - Ladakh, India

Don't have time for the classic Himalayan caravan above? Here is a shorter option that joins the trip above a third of the way in.

Remote Zanskar - Ladakh, India

Zanskar is one of the most beautiful populated Himalayan valleys there is. We trek the classic route then branch off to take wilder route than the normal (and miss the road section), which takes us to high villages and valleys little visited by westerners.

Zanskar Hard - Ladakh, India

WILD. In the colourful canyons of the Jumlam the approx 108 river crossings give you a clue, this is a trek of penance. Also of raw beauty and that huge Ladakhi sky.

Markha Valley

Trekking through the Markha valley you pass ancient hilltop gompas, villages in motion, busy and thriving be it spring, summer or autumn, visit high altitude pastures, and finally cross a high pass with amazing Himalayan views. It was my (Joel's) very first Himalayan trek (and Jamie's too!) and no matter which end of the Himalaya I am coming from, wandering the trails of the Markha valley is like meeting an old friend after many years. It can be hard, it can be challenging, but as it is a true friend it’s well worth it.
