Caravan 6666

After our first climbs around the high plateau we headed to Tso Moriri, a huge high altitude lake, 24kms long, which has fantastic trekking.
Its a moody turquoise lake ringed by ochre hills and snow-capped mountains.

From around here we climbed several more peaks (covered in the Climbs gallery).

Yep, it is a wonderfully moody place with a weather system of its own.
Often there are localized afternoon storms, which look ominous, but in fact never hit us in full.

It is also the temporary home to Tibetan nomads grazing their yaks and sheep - Jamie

And it is a protected bird sanctuary with a huge range of aquatic life - Jamie

Sometime we want to explore the peaks shown here - Jamie

A classic semi-hidden camp of flowers that flourish from a spring, and it has great views over the lake too - Jamie

From high on one of the peaks we climbed, we spied this, a peak that I  (Jamie) has wondered about for a while.
We want to explore this mountain sometime - Jamie
