8 July - snowfall at BCI (Jamie) stayed at BC to pack another set of loads for the high altitude porters.
Our liaison officer enjoys the snow - Jamie 10 July - Gasherbrum BC 5100mYesterday the team came down from the mountain, after three nights up there acclimatizing. Today was a rest day. It seems that the weather is going to be good for a few days, then 1-2 days with less good weather (but not necessarily bad?) that we can ride out at Camp 1 (5900m) or Camp 2 (6400m). Then there should be another good patch of weather, perhaps our summit window, of we are feeling strong. We will of course change our plans according to conditions of both us and the weather, and the mountain. We will not be putting up any dispatches or answering any emails until we return to Base Camp, which could be as late as 21 July. jdesign -- all rights reserved -- 2007 |
