Trekking!

It is a HOT, sunny trek so far.

22 June - driving to Askole

We started early, these 4am starts are becoming a bad habit. The jeep ride was bumpy in the old-style Landcruisers, but further in we realized that the road is basically designed for these vehicles, and sections were ROUGH. We planned to trek the afternoon to get out of sync with other expeditions but the porters, were not warned and while 25 agreed we decided against splitting the gear, and Pete wasn't so well either. So we stayed the night and Pete's luggage arrived, which cheered him up.

24 June - trek to Paiyu

Another HOT day trekking, and with a few people with (viral?) diarrheoa, it was a tough day for some. And spectacular for others.
