8000m history

We partner with DCXP Mountain Journeys for some of our expeditions

Mountain Hardwear: no sponsorship, just great gear

Enertia Trailfoods: the best mountain food, good day after day...

Patagonia: no sponsorship, just great gear

The mission - expedition ends

Kevin: "The only time the expedition ends is when you are at the front door again."

5 June - summit

Heinous route. Windy. Stayed Camp 2.

6 June - down to ABC

Rather tired, but met Gavin at DCXP ABC. Our ABC has gone. We have summit coughs.

7 June - ABC to Zhangmu

Long trek down then long drive thru heinous roadwork's. Only trucks and Landcruisers can get thru. arrive late, dirty doss in Zhangmu. Our clothes stink but we slept in them.

8 June - across the border to Kathmandu

Heinous chaos. Unbelievable. What a mission. But we eat pizza in Fire and Ice, finally.

Were trees felled across the road because of an accident
or something to do with timber smuggling?
Kirsti and Dawa walk past - Jamie

No photo does justice to just how rough we look (luckily).
Here we rest after walking around the felled trees. Is it hot?! We are about to hop on the bus - Kirsti

Lhakpa finds the beer too heavy to carry - the solution?! - Jamie
L-R: Lhakpa facing away, Babu (partially hidden), Pasang Gombu, Kami, Dawa, Nabin (Explore Himalaya operations and trouble-shooter),
Ngima Chhiri and Namgyal.

Our second bus, old and tough as they come and Nepali music blaring noisier than any picture can suggest.
L-R: Pasang Gombu sweating, Babu the Indian from Hydrabad who summitted shadowing the DCXP team,
Kevin (partially hidden), Duncan, Nabin and in front David (DCXP summitted) and Sasha, his wife - Jamie
